Face Of The Day - Neutral Eye With Urban Decay

This is actually the face of Sunday and the eye makeup is a look that I do regularly when I don't have a huge amount of time. I used the Urban Decay Deluxe Eyeshadow palette. These photos were taken in the hotel bathroom again so are with flash which has washed out the colours a little bit.

Products Used
Face:
Bobbi Brown Corrector Light Bisque
Revlon Colourstay Foundation
MAC MSF Natural
Nars Laguna Bronzer
Illamasqua Hussy Blusher
Eyes:
UDPP
UD Scratch on inner third of lid
UD Shag on rest of lid
UD Underground on outer corner and crease
UD Peace under lower lashline
MAC Shroom as highlight (It's the only thing missing in the palette!)
MAC Blitz & Glitz Fluidline
Covergirl Lashblast Luxe Mascara
Lips:
MAC Viva Glam Gaga

The lipstick suffered the most in these pictures, its much brighter in reality. This is the first pale pink that I think I can actually pull off and felt comfortable wearing.
I really love the Urban Decay Deluxe Palette, I have had it for about a year and I use it all the time, there is a really nice selection of colours and none of them have any glitter just a lovely shimmer/sheen. This is a great way of trying out the Deluxe formula without shelling out £12.50 on one colour!
Do you have this palette? Any colour combinations you love?

Face of Saturday Night using Mac Shadowy Lady Quad

Me and my Mum went to Nottingham for the weekend, it was so nice just to have a change of scene and the opportunity to just chill out! I had a holostic facial while I was there which was lovely.
The Shadowy Lady quad is another thing that I picked up from the CCO, I had a couple of comments asking where CCO's are in the UK, the one I went to was at Gunn Wharf in Portsmouth but there are a few around, they tend to be in outlet malls, some of the McarthurGlen ones have a Cosmetic Company Store, click here to visit their website and you can check the locations, not all malls have a Cosmetic Company Store so make sure you check the particular mall before you head out there!
These photos were taken in my hotel bathroom and the light was awful so these are with flash.

Products Used:
Face:
Bobbi Brown Corrector Light Bisque
Revlon Colourstay Foundation
Maybelline Mineral Concealer
MAC MSF Natural
Illamasqua Hussy Blush
Nars Laguna Bronzer
MAC Shell Cream Colour Base
Eyes:
UDPP
MAC Smudged Violet on Lid
MAC Shadowy Lady in crease and outer corner
MAC Shroom as highlight
MAC Deep Truth under lower lashes
Smashbox brow powder
MAC Blitz & Glitz Fluidline
Covergirl Lashblast Luxe
Lips
MAC Viva Glam Cyndi

I absolutely love Viva Glam Cyndi, its such a gorgeous colour and I can see myself using this all the time. As always if there is anything in that list you want to see a review of then please let me know!

Nails Of The Week - H&M My Favourite Jeans

This is the other colour I picked up from H&M last week. This is a gorgeous grey/blue with multicoloured shimmer, there is pink, green, blue, silver and probably more that I can't pick up in this lighting! Altogether it gives a lovely effect. This one took 3 coats and I did put a layer of Leighton Denny top coat on. I have had it on for the last 3 days and have no chips and not even any real tip wear!

You can see the effect of the shimmer here but not really all the colours that are in there, this really is a colour that you need to see for yourself.

Face Of My Birthday - Purple Smokey Eyes

It was my birthday last Thursday, it was an incredibly weird birthday as it was the first major date since I seperated from my husband (That's the reason I haven't been around much). But I still had a nice day with my Family and was spoilt.
On Friday night me and my friend Penny went to TGI Fridays and had a bit of a bar crawl around Covent Garden, I decided on a purple smokey eye and I pulled out MAC Violet Pigment which is a colour I love but I have never really used.
I really love this pigment and I can see myself doing this look regularly for a night out.
As this look was really all about the eyes I kept the rest of my face pretty neutral. All photos with flash.

Products Used:
Face:
Smashbox Photo Finish Primer
Make Up Forever HD Foundation
Bobbi Brown Corrector Light Bisque
Babara Daly for Tesco Concealer
Make Up Forever HD Powder
Nars Laguna Bronzer
Nars Orgasm Blush
MAC Shell CCB as highlight
Eyes:
UDPP
MAC Violet Pigment on lid, in crease and under lower lashes
MAC Black Tied Eyeshadow blended in crease and outer third
MAC Blanc Type as highlight
MAC Black Russian Eyeliner
Mac Lashes (Have no idea of the number!)
Covergirl Lashblast Luxe Mascara
Lips:
Estee Lauder Crystal Pink Lipstick

What do you think? I am always drawn to purple shadows/pigments but find I don't use them as much as I should! I have to say my eyes were so tired by the end of the night, contact lenses and false lashes when I don't regularly wear either were driving me mad! Things are starting to calm down a bit now so hopefully I will be back to my regular posting!

Nails Of The Week - H&M Goddess On Stage

I have posted about the H&M Holo polishes before but I hadn't tried the regular line until I picked up this and one other colour last week, they were £2.99 each.
This is a gorgeous purple shot through with a very fine pink and blue shimmer. It's absolutely gorgeous and I got so many compliments on it. This is two coats and it's completely opaque. I wore this for 3 days with no top coat and had no chips and only minor tip wear.
This picture is with flash but is pretty true to colour, all the ones I took without flash looked black and it doesn't look that way in reality at all. It doesn't look black in any lights but the shimmer is more noticable in sunlight or bright artifical light.
This one shows of the shimmer quite well.

Have you tried any H&M Polishes?

Mac Haul - Viva Glam Cyndi & Gaga Lip Swatches

I haven't bought anything from the last few mac collections as nothing really caught my eye, I did look at the blush ombres but I didn't take any home. But as soon as I saw the promo images for the new Viva Glams I knew I needed them! I was very dissapointed when I went to MAC on the first Thursday and they didn't have them! So Monday lunch time I headed straight there to pick them up. I was given a high five by the MA which was slightly odd but it was launch day! There is also a competition to win tickets to see Lady Gaga in Paris you can enter when you purchase. All the money from the sale of these lipsticks goes to the MAC AIDS fund so I felt justified buying yet more lipstick!
These photos are taken under artifical light without flash so look slightly lighter than they are in reality.

First up Viva Glam Gaga
I am surprised how wearable this is for me. I have pretty pigmented lips and most pale pinks look awful on my skintone. I have Colour Crafted and never wear it as it looks horriblel! This is a gorgeous milky pink, because its a lustre formula you can build up the colour or just one or two swipes for a subtle colour. This has a lovely sheen to it so doesn't really need a gloss on top.
Viva Glam Cyndi
This is the one I was most looking forward to. It's a gorgeous coral red and I absolutely love it! This is two layers of colour and I think it is so wearable. It's a colour that I think would suit most skin tones. If you are not brave enough for a full on red this is a great alternative. Again it has a gorgeous sheen to it so no gloss required.

Viva Glam Cyndi & Gaga Mixed

Together these lipsticks make a gorgeous light coral. I think this is perfect for daytime if you want a bit of colour but nothing to over the top. They mixed together really easily.
Have you picked up either of these? Any thoughts?

Face of Sunday - Bronze and Burgundy

On Sunday I decided to straighten my hair for the first time in about a year, honestly I don't like it straight! I used to do this everyday and I really have no idea why! My hair is so fine that when I straighten it it's just so flat, I prefer my curls! Anyway on to the makeup, I decided I wanted to use products I don't always reach for and so this is the result, I'm not sure about it actually. I changed the lip product before the photos as once again I couldn't find the one I was wearing earlier and I fancied playing with the Lip Tars but the look would have been better with a more neutral lip.

Vichy Essentielles Skincare Review

Just before Christmas Vichy sent me some products from the Essentielles range. I know you have probably seen lots of reviews of these products by now but I just wanted to use them for a longer period of time before I gave you my opinion on the products.

The stand out of the 3 for me has been the cleanser. A negative is that there are no instructions on the packaging at all. It comes out of the tube as a very thick and sticky liquid and there is no way I was just slapping that on my face! I have found that the best way to use it is to put some in your hand and then mix it with water which turns it into a nice foamy liquid consistency. I have found that it does a great job at removing makeup, including mascara and eyeliner. I have found that it stings if it gets in my eyes so I make sure to keep them firmly closed!

The Moisturiser is nice, its a light cream and absorbes fairly quickly, I have combination dry skin during the winter and this has done a good job at keeping my flakey winter skin at bay. I have been using it twice daily since Christmas and I am almost at the end of the tube now.

The Body Moisturiser is the product that I have used the least, I am not overly fond of the scent which I find stronger in this than the other products. It's not that its a bad product and it does it's job well I just have other products that I prefer.

The Essentielles range is available at Lloydspharmacy and is very reasonably priced. I would definately look at re-purchasing the cleanser and facial moisturiser. These are my opinions on the products and obviously my experience is based solely on my skin.

Disclaimer: These products were sent to me for review purposes. The opinion expressed is honest and I have not been paid for this review

Face Of The Day - Neutral eye with Stila

I finally got round to using the Stila Eyeshadows I got in my Brandalley haul, these are such gorgeous colours, very shimmery and pigmented. They remind me off the Mac mineralise eyeshadow duo's but a bit more pigmented. It lasted really well too, no fading and the eyeshadow still looked as good when it was time to remove it. As you can see in the pictures I still have the reverse racoon look going on thanks to Make Up Forever HD powder, this has been a bit of a dissapointment. I love the effect it gives and it looks great in the flesh but really reacts badly under the camera flash.

Products Used:
Face:
Bobbi Brown Corrector Light Bisque
Revlon Colourstay Foundation Ivory
Make Up Forever HD Setting Powder
Nars Laguna Bronzer
Stila Orchid Convertible Colour
Mac Emphasize Highlighter
Eyes:
UDPP
Stila Baked Eyeshadow in Champage Glow
Mac Blanc Type to Highlight
Stila Black Smudge Pot on upper lashline
Mac Pearlglide liner in Bankroll on lower lashline
Covergirl Lashblast Mascara
Lips:
Estee Lauder Crystal Pink Lipstick

I really am impressed with this eyeshadow, if you like browns/taupes and don't mind shimmer then I highly recommend it.

Nails Of The Week - Asda George Indigo Dazzle

I am so impressed with these Asda nail polishes, Lipglossiping kindly gave me one just before Christmas and so when my Mum said she was going to Asda I asked her to pick some more out for me. The bottles are small but personally I think thats a good thing as the chance of me ever using up a whole bottle is slim to none. You get 5mls for 99p which is great value and they have a really nice selection of colours. Out of all the colours I got this is the one that I instantly reached for, its a gorgeous blue that flashes purple in some lights with a blue and green shimmer running through it. This is two coats with Leighton Denny Crystal Finish top coat. These photos are with flash, the shimmer does show in all lighting but it looks incredible in sunlight, not that we have been having much of that lately.

Have you tried any of the Asda polishes, any colours you would recommend?

Face Of Saturday Night

For once I wasn't running late and had time to grab my camera and take a few pictures of my makeup from Saturday night!
I actually really like how it turned out, I picked up Mac Fiction eyeshadow at a CCO recently and its such a gorgeous golden green, it made a lovely smokey eye.
I have been using the Make Up Forever HD powder for a little while now and I have to say that I like the effect it gives but not the way it photographs! I blended a tiny bit under my eyes to set my concealer and in the flesh it looked fine but in the pictures I have a bit of the reverse racoon effect going on!
So onto the pictures, all with flash.

Products Used:
Face:
Bobbi Brown Corrector in Light Bisque
Revlon Colourstay Foundation Ivory
Make Up Forever HD Powder
Nars Laguna Bronzer
Stila Orchid Convertible Colour
No7 Highlighter
Eyes:
UDPP
Mac Fiction on lid and crease and lower lash line
Mac Carbon blended in to crease and outer corner
Mac Blanc Type to highlight
Stila Black Smudge pot on upper lashline and waterline
Covergirl Lashblast Mascara
Lips
Mac Adore It Lipstick

What do you think? Do you have Fiction? It's a discontinued colour but I have read that it's comparable to Greensmoke which is in the permanent line.
