Boots Haul - Urban Decay, Too Faced & Prestige

I wasn't meant to buy anything this week but the 3 for 2 in boots tempted me! I really wanted to pick up the Too Faced Glamour To Go palette after seeing it on Tali's blog a few weeks ago and I also wanted to try Urban Decay lipsticks so took the opportunity to get them a bit cheaper!

I also had a quick look at the prestige stand and noticed the new Shimmering Trios eye shadows. They only had two different sets, one was a golden brown trio and the other one was Emerald which is the one I chose, its contains three colours of a very finely milled shimmery pigment. The colours are gorgeous and very pigmented, I know there are a bigger range of colours available in America so hopefully they will bring them over here soon. These were on offer they will normally be priced at £9.78 but at the moment they are £2 off.
Onto the swatches

Urban Decay Lipsticks: Pistol is a very sheer shimmery berry colour, its gorgeous and one of those shades you can apply without a mirror. Gash is a very pigmented glossy red, looks really nice on. Its a very wearable red. My only gripe with these are the bitter taste! They smell nice and initially don't taste of anything but after an hour or so there is a really bitter taste in the back of the mouth! Its not terrible and something I can live with but it might put me off buying more.

Too Faced Glamour To Go: I love this little palette, the glosses are decently pigmented, usually in palettes when swatched they all look the same but with these you can definitely see the different shades. The eye shadows are all very pigmented and creamy, they blend together really nicely. The blush is also a really wearable peachy pink shade. I do think this is good value for money and is great to just keep in your makeup bag as its so small.

Prestige Shimmering Trios: This was an impulse buy, I have been loving greens lately so as soon as I saw this I had to get it. I love the packaging and the colours are incredibly pigmented and very shimmery. Haven't had a chance to play with this properly yet but will do a full review once I have.
Each colour has a little snap lid as you can see in the picture below, this really minimises on mess!

Have you got anything new this week?

Review - Collection 2000 Glam Crystals Glitter Liners

I wanted to write this review because I feel that Collection 2000 is a brand that is so easily overlooked! I know this was one of the brands I used to buy a lot from when I was at school as it was cheap and pocket money didn't go far! They have changed a lot since then! The packaging has changed and they do actually have some really good cheaply priced products!
One of my favourite products from them are the Glam Crystals Glitter Eyeliners.

The colours from left to right are 1.Glitz, 2.Pizzazz, 3.Funk, 4.Hustle, 5.Le Freak, 6.Night Fever, 7.Rock Chick, 10.POW!, 11.Shake It Up
I also have an Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner in Spandex and a sample of Too Faced Starry Eyed in Ooh & Aah. Here is a picture where you can compare the size, obviously the Too Faced one is only a sample, I'm not sure of the size of the full sized one!
Now the price difference, the Urban Decay glitter liners are £11.26 at Boots, the Collection 2000 ones are £2.99 and are often on offer in Superdrug/Boots. You would think that for that price the quality would be crap but honestly they are amazing! Here are some swatches taken with flash so you can see the sparkle! Now the Urban Decay one is top left, Too Faced top right and then the Collection 2000 ones in a line in the same order as above.

This is two swipes with the brush and the picture says it all really, the Urban Decay one is incredibly sheer and you really have to work to get the glitter to apply evenly whereas the Collection 2000 ones are even and beautifully sparkly!
I have never tried a MAC glitter liner and to be honest I don't think I ever will! These liners are so pigmented and literally stay put till you take them off with remover! And for £2.99 you really can't go wrong! So if you are looking for a decent Glitter Liner definately check these out, in my opinion they are far better than the higher end brands I have tried!

Hope everyone is having a lovely relaxing Sunday!

Drugstore Mini Haul

Hey!

Firstly I wanna apologise for lack of blogging! My Nan had a triple bypass operation and I have had the flu, I should be around more from now on!

So last week I went to Boots on my lunch break and noticed they had an offer on Too Faced, if you spend £15 you get a free GWP.
I picked up two of the new Lockdown cream eye shadows. These are infused with shadow insurance so work great as an eyeshadow base! I picked up Bondage which is a gorgeous shimmery beige and I'm Guilty which is a teal blue. Here are some swatches

I have had a chance to try these and I wore them as bases without a primer underneath and at the end of the day my shadow had not creased and still looked good.

So this is the free gift you get, it comes with a little pink bag, a mini Shadow Insurance, Mini glitter eyeliner and a lipgloss. I currently use UDPP and really wanted to try shadow insurance so thought this was the perfect opportunity!

Boots are currently giving out a £2 off selected cosmetics voucher when you spend £5 so I picked up this new mineral powder from Bourjois, its on offer anyway so it ended up costing £3 something (Sorry can't find the receipt!)
I was thinking about picking up MAC's MSF natural but thought I would give this a try first as obviously its much cheaper and I have to say I really like it! Might buy a back up now while its on offer. There are a few negatives with this though, the powder itself has a bit of a floral smell which I don't like, but you only smell this when you apply it then it fades and also the packaging. You have to press the catch in to open it and the mirror in mine was cracked! I used tweezers to pull the mirror out and its fine but just be careful if you do get this!

Hope everyone is having a good sunday!
Jo x
