A tiny superdrug haul

I popped into Superdrug on my lunch break today and as well as picking up a few essentials a couple of makeup items happened to make their way into my basket, I have no idea how it happened!! I picked up the Beauty UK Metallic Eyes Quad Number 1 and Barry M Lip Laquer Crayon in Number 1.

The swatches above are with flash, this is one swipe with my finger, this quad was £3.50 and honestly I wasn't expecting them to be this good! They are very pigmented and the shadows actually feel quite buttery.
It was really the second shade in the picture above that made me pick up this palette, it's such a gorgeous silvery taupe shade.
I am also really impressed with the lip laquer, its a gorgeous red shade with shimmer, I had to really scrub to get this off my hand! This was £4.49 and I think it is pretty decent value for money!

Expect to see these in a face of the day soon!

Nails Of The Week - ASOS Ciate Paint Pot in Pixie

I have to admit I was in two minds if I should get this colour or not, I don't really do green unless its really dark but then it was only £1.50 so I thought what the hell and I am actually really glad I did as I really like it.

In real life its probably closer to the picture without flash. I am really impressed with the formula, this is 3 coats although 2 would probably have done. I have been wearing this for the past 3 days without any top coat and I have no chipping and only minor tip wear.
What do you think? Is this a yay or nay for you?

Nails Of The Week - OPI For Sephora Meet For Drinks

I have had this in my stash since I went to New York last year but I have seriously neglected it! I think I tried it once and then it was put to the back of the draw and forgotten.
This is a gorgeous deep red with shimmer. It took 3 coats to be totally opaque but drying time is really good. This has a really thin brush which takes a bit of getting used to especially after using the OPI wide brushes for so long! I think this is a perfect winter colour.

I have booked to go back to America to visit my friend in May and I will definately be picking up a few more OPI for Sephora colours, are there any you would recommend?

Little Brand Alley Stila Haul

I have been registered with Brand Alley for quite awhile now but had never actually made a purchase until the email arrived saying they had a Stila sale! Brand Alley is a website that basically sells off end of line and discontinued products at a discounted price. I only found 3 things that I wanted, there were more things but I wasn't fast enough and they had already sold out. The only thing that almost put me off was the high postage charge (£4.95) but then it was sent by DHL and arrived the day after I got the email saying it had been shipped. It took about 2 weeks to arrive but they did state on the website that it can take up to a month for the goods to be despatched! So anyway on to what I picked!

Stila Baked Eyeshadow in Champagne Glow, I am in love with this! This is one swipe with my finger so you can see how pigmented they are. They are very shimmery which doesn't show that well in the picture. Honestly they are gorgeous! This was £6

Smudge Pot in Cobalt, this is a really pretty blue with shimmer. This was £4

Kajal Eyeliner in Topaz, this was the thing I was the most excited to see on there as I have read so many great reviews. This is a great alternative to white for lining the waterline. This was £4

So the total including postage was £18.95, although the postage is high as long as you buy a few items its worth it. You do have to register to enter and shop on their website but that is a good thing as they then send you emails listing all the new sales they have!

Have you bought anything from Brand Alley??

PS: On a personal note I am going through a really tough time at the moment, things are a bit up in the air so I may not be able to post as often as I would like. I hope you all stay with me!

Nails Of The Week Part 2 - OPI Meet Me At The Star Ferry

After reading about the OPI Hong Kong collection on Kittys Claws I nipped into Selfridges on my lunch break to have a look. Only one of the colours really called to me, I love the name Meet Me At The Star Ferry. This is one of those really hard to describe colours, its a mixture of Pink, Purple and Bronze and looks totally different under different lights. It is a metallic base colour packed with shimmer, there is green, blue, gold and pink in there but again it looks different depending on the lighting. Because of the metallic finish I did get some brush marks but they are not overly noticable. I had so many compliments on this!

Out of focus but shows the colours of the shimmer really well!

But as usual after a day I got bored so out came the konad. I tried a new design from plate M64 and Black Pearl special polish. I really like the way this turned out, I think the black design actually goes really well with the colour.

Have you picked up anything from the OPI Hong Kong Collection?

Playing with the OCC Lip Tars

Tonight I had a chance to have a quick play with my OCC Lip Tars, I am absolutely in love with NSFW. There are so many more combinations I can't wait to try but here are some quick pictures of what I tried out tonight. These are not perfectly applied and by the end my lips were so sore as I really had to scrub to get them off! These are taken without flash but under artifical light so colours are washed out a little bit.

Nails Of The Week - Leighton Denny Off The Hook and Konad

I have had this polish for ages, it was part of a set my Mum got me from QVC, it's a gorgeous rich metallic purple. Two coats and it was completely opaque. It was gorgeous on its own but I couldn't resist putting a Konad design on it. Again I used China Glaze OMG which is the holographic silver and konad plate number M64. I really liked how this one turned out, it was subtle but really pretty.

Have you tried any Leighton Denny colours, the only ones I have are the ones that came in this set but I have noticed that they stock them in larger boots now.
